Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)
For children ages 3-6, CGS offers an environment where the child's personal relationship with our Shepherd is fostered and explored through interacting with tangible means. This montessori-type approach allows the time and space for the Holy Spirit to work through the child, drawing he or she closer to our Father. CGS meets on Monday mornings from 9:15-10:45.
Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)
Offered during the 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday Masses for children in Pre-K through 5th Grade, the Sunday Gospel reading is presented by our volunteer CLOW teachers in a manner more easily understood by our youngest parishioners. Here children learn the Word of God and participate in an activity that reinforces the Gospel message. Children gather during the Mass after Opening Prayer and return to their families during the Offertory collection. The age groups are divided into the following:
CLOW: Pre-K - 1st Grade I Treehouse: 2nd - 5th Grade
There is no need to register for this ministry. Children are encouraged to join in the procession once the priest has invited the congregation. Our CLOW ministry leader, Susan Peaden, may be contacted with any questions.
Our youth groups combine fun, fellowship, and Catholic values in an environment in which all are welcome. Life Teen is open to all high school students and meets Sundays from 6:30 - 8:30pm. Cathedral Edge is open to all middle school students and meets Thursdays from 6:45 – 8:15pm. Contact our youth minister, Jacq Forte, with any questions.
Children's Religious Education
Offered each Sunday from 9:15 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. during August through May for children Grades K – 5, the teachings of the Catholic Church are explored in an environment which promotes learning and fellowship among our parish youth. Curriculum is designed for each grade level and taught by volunteer teachers specially trained for this ministry.
